This SUP Yoga class is practised on the board, in the water comprised of basic and more challenging yoga moves that also incorporate the paddle. The class is full of laughs and also has a very Zen quality to it. Yoga4SUP is a perfect work out from your head to your toes. No knowledge of Stand Up Paddle boarding or Yoga required! Anyone can do this fun, empowering class. There is a short explication about how to paddle board at the beginning of the class.
Yoga4SUP was developed by Audrey Meyer, and is the first class of its kind in the Dominican Republic.
The 90 minutes class is a work out on the boards in the ocean comprised of basic and more challenging yoga moves that also incorporate the paddle. Enjoy the combination of Stand Up Paddleboarding and Yoga. The paddle board makes a fine yoga mat and the extra balance required by being on the water intensifies the yoga routine. The peacefulness of floating on the water combines nicely with the meditative nature of yoga.
Private & Group Classes
Classes are held in Cabarete Bay where the water is flat and access is easy. We launch from the paddle and wind centre, Vela. Private classes are availble most mornings and group classes are held on Sunday mornings. All classes are condition dependant.
