Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)


SUP is the fastest growing sport across the world. Because you don’t need waves or wind to propel yourself, you can do it on any open water. Not only SUP is fun and perfect for your entire family (anyone can do it), but SUP also has huge benefit for you. A total core and cardiovascular workout, stand up paddling works your entire body and mind.


Cabarete is one of the best places for Stand Up Paddling. You can do it in the bay, on flat water, cruising along the coast of the north Shore of the Dominican Republic, in the waves, surfing on the reef and on the inland river, and discovering the beauty of the Dominican wild life. SUP ‘ing is a combination of cross training and pilates. Totally low impact, it will improve your cardio- endurance, aerobic and anaerobic but at the same time you get a full body workout, targeting arms, abs, thighs and butts – all at once!

All our SUP classes includes all the equipment needed (board, paddle, leash). We suggest to wear comfortable clothes and sunscreen. Hat/visor/lip balm recommended. Croakies for sunglasses are recommended. Bring an extra change of clothes/towel that will be locked while we are on the water.ACA_Logo_blue

Audrey Meyer is the first ACA (American Canoe Association) Stand Up Paddle Board Certified Instructor in the Dominican Republic. 

The ACA National Paddlesports Instruction Program has been acknowledged as the “Gold Standard” of paddlesports education throughout the United States and several foreign countries. 


Intro to

Intro to SUP

Our quality lesson cover the aspect of posture, balance, equipment advice (SUP board size, paddle length), how to paddle, propel yourself forward, how to perform a turn, etc….

We will be right by your side the whole time, coaching you into the water, out of the water and paddle boarding right next to you.

After completing the Intro to Paddle Boarding lesson with us you can join us for any class on the schedule.

SUP Surfing

Intro to SUP Surfing

If you are interested in learning how to ride a SUP in the waves, you have come to the right place. We get you started the right way and will teach you how to ride waves in a safe way, the surf stroke, paddle over white water, the turn and advanced maneuvers.

 SUP surfing adds a whole new dimension to your surfing experience. It allows you to catch waves earlier and faster, gives you the ability to surf multiple breaks in a session, and turns waves that were once not surfed due to being considered average into a fun uncrowded surf spot.

SUP Fit Workshop

Learn about SUP techniques and discover a new way to work out on the board and make some new friends. We will cover important topics for paddlers, including the health benefits of SUP, water safety and ocean preparedness, SUP fitness techniques and equipment reviews.

Workshop Content:

  • Core exercises on the beach  
  • Understanding your equipment, paddle Techniques and Board Control
  • Group Paddle tour with Audrey Meyer with focus on balance and core strengthening
  • Yoga and Balance techniques (on the beach and on the ocean)

Course Organization:

  • Duration: 4 days training from 7.30 am to 9 am + daily Yoga classes

Yoga on the Paddleboard

 Yoga for SUP

1.5 hrs

Enjoy the combination of Stand Up Paddle boarding and Yoga. The board makes a fine yoga mat and the extra balance required by being on the water intensifies the yoga routine. The peacefulness of floating on the water combines nicely with the meditative nature of yoga.

This SUP Yoga class is practiced on the board, in the water comprised of basic and more challenging yoga moves that also incorporate the paddle. The class is full of laughs and also has a very Zen quality to it.

Yoga4SUP is a perfect work out from your head to your toes. No knowledge of Stand Up Paddle boarding or Yoga required! Anyone can do this fun, empowering class. There is a short explication about how to paddle board at the beginning of the class.
